SHEKHAR jayal
Shekhar Jayal, a native of Uttarakhand, took to mountaineering after completing his Basic and Advance Mountaineering Courses. But he found some vacuum in his adventure forays of not being able to capture the mesmeric beauty of mountains and nature for eternity. So, he took to photography.
Initially, a camera for him was a mere instrument to capture objects for future. But after completing his diploma in photography, he found that it could be used as a medium of artistic expression. Since then he has taken photography seriously.
For the last 16 years he has been involved in various International Mountaineering Expeditions. He is not only an adventurer but an avid traveler too, who loves to travel to different places along with his camera. He has conducted his photographic exhibition at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi in 2004 and at the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi in 2012. His photographic work has been published in the book titled “Himalayan Mystery” published by Roli Books and in the Calendar of 2009 published by Rajbhasha, Home Ministry, Govt. of India. Some of his photographs and articles have also been published in the magazines of international repute.
Apart from his adventure forays, he has diplomas in journalism and Japanese language. At present, he is a Japanese Language teacher.
