BINAY kumar

M.F.A. College of Art, Delhi, 2000
A creative thinker, an innovator and an out-of-the-box experimentalist create the persona of Binay Kumar. Binay has done his B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Sculpture from Delhi College of Fine Arts. From his art college days his unique ability to perceive an idea and transform it into an innovative art form was commendable.
Binay is known for choosing his forms from simple objects which we usually undermine or ignore. The objects which are considered as without any aesthetic value bring meaningful message with the compassionate touch of Binay. An art installation using drain lines of Art College campus created news in the art circle in year 2000 in Delhi.
Binay chooses the subjects which are tiny, weak, forgotten and considered as useless in the current time frame. His works remind us the irony of life which sometimes goes through the same turmoil during its journey. Sometimes we see people around us being ignored due to their incapability of coping with time and fast pace of life.
Binay’s sculptures warn us about this hypocrisy of ours. He reminds us to take care of people who need our support…our elders, children, patients, week and poor. It is on the base of the past we can build our purposeful future…base should be strong and cared. The beginning has to be remembered and honored while we keep our busy eye on future.
